What the app does
Chime On Time plays a chime and, if you want, speaks the time at intervals you choose (for example, every hour). You can also add a home-screen widget that shows the next chime.
Data we collect
None. The app has no accounts, makes no network requests of its own, and has no ads, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Data stored only on your device
- Settings: your schedule, quiet hours, sounds, voice and theme options, and whether Pro is unlocked.
- Chime history: when each chime was scheduled and played, and why one was skipped (for example, quiet hours or Do Not Disturb). This is a troubleshooting log.
We never receive this data.
Purchases
The optional one-time Pro unlock is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment under the Google Privacy Policy. We never receive your payment details. The app only sees, on your device, whether Pro has been purchased.
Permissions and why we use them
- Notifications: shows a notification while a chime plays, and a fallback notification if playback can't start.
- Alarms & reminders (exact alarms): plays chimes at the exact minute.
- Run at startup: restores your chime schedule after the phone restarts.
- Prevent phone from sleeping / foreground service (media playback): keeps the phone awake for the few seconds a chime plays.
- Vibration: for the vibration options.
- Google Play billing: for the optional Pro purchase.
Ads, analytics and third parties
The app contains no ads, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
Android backup
If Android backup is on, Android may back up your settings to your Google account so they're restored on a new phone. Chime history is never backed up. You can turn off backup in Android settings.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Use Chime History › Clear history, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Because all data is on your device, this removes it completely.
Security
Your data never leaves your device through the app. It's protected by Android's app sandbox and your device's lock screen and encryption.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and publish the new version at the same address.
